this dood... is frickin AWESOME.
He's a really REALLY smart astrophysicist, he first suggested that pluto was not actually a planet... he has a book called Death By Black Hole, I have a paperback copy. it's AWESOME. again. Anyways, he is an advocate of the prediction that there will be an asteroid coming danger-close to Earth in 2029. IF this asteroid (dubbed Apophis) actually collides with Earth, it will make contact in the Pacific Ocean 7 years later (i.e. 2036). It might not be fatal but.... isn't that so compellingly interesting?!
This guy is BRILLIANT. For serious, if you have ANY interest at all in the space beyond our own, read his books. He is, again, AWESOME.
